Overview of Special Events

Programming for the Jane Irish: War Is Not What You Think collaborative exhibition was co-sponsored and funded by the Concert and Lecture Series, the Connelly Library, the Fine Arts Department and Women’s Studies Program. The opening reception for the exhibition was held on January 18, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. Jane Irish's artist talk took place in Olney 100 on January 24, 2012.

Two additional events designed to complement and expound upon the exhibition were held in March of 2012. On March 13, Dr. Tara Tappert, independent scholar and an archives and American art consultant spoke on arts and crafts in the military. On March 29, an interactive event was held in the Art Museum with Jane Irish, Connelly Library Director John Baky, La Salle University Art Museum Director Klare Scarborough and Curator of Art Carmen Vendelin.
