The oral histories on these pages are of Christian Brothers; La Salle University faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni; and residents of neighborhoods near La Salle University. Most of these interviews were conducted by graduate students in the Master of Arts in History program, as a class assignment for History 650, Oral History Theory and Methods. Honors freshmen conducted a few of the interviews as a requirement for the Honors Western Civilization class. For most interviews listed, the primary PDF file is a set of field notes. Audio recordings and transcripts or logs (abstracts) are located among the supplementary materials. Interviewees signed legal releases to permit their interviews to be posted online. Original legal releases are held in the La Salle University Library and Archives. Rights to transcripts, logs, field notes, and audio recordings remain with La Salle University Library and Archives. The types and format of materials submitted vary by year, as the class project has evolved. A few interviews are subject to restrictions and will only be posted online once restrictions expire, according to the terms of the legal release.
