Description
Operation RAW route of march painting series April-Sept. 2004. The accordion folded work is a replica of the nineteen individual paintings Irish created (2004/5) as she physically followed the route of the 1970 Operation RAW resistance march from Morristown, NJ to Valley Forge, PA. The reproduced paintings on wooden backing replicate the monumental linear set of paintings that was the center piece for the 60-artist combined exhibition in 2005 entitled Operation Rapid American Withdrawal: 1970-2005 – an Exhibition.
