Brief Biography
Legal issues involving children on the spectrum often become complicated. Marc Davies brings the insight of the parent of a child on the spectrum, with the knowledge of a special needs lawyer and advocate, to help families understand, and properly enforce, their rights. Marc dedicates a large portion of his practice to helping families in need, and speaks to scholastic and local community organizations about his “Tips From the Trenches: Advice from a Parent and Lawyer About Services and Funding Options Available for Special Needs Children.”

The workshop will delve into legal issues involving children diagnosed with autism. As such issues often become complicated, Marc Davies brings the insight of a parent with a child on the spectrum with the knowledge of a special needs lawyer and advocate, to help families understand, and properly enforce, their rights. The session will serve as a critical component in develop advocacy and self-advocacy skills, covering various topics that face the ASD community, such as insurance and secondary insurance issues, grants, IEPs, and will also address interests of those in the room.
